Is there anything too difficult for the Lord to do?
There is a sign in our (Nicole’s and mine) bedroom that reads, “With God, All Things are Possible.”
Could any one of us have ever dreamed up the concept of creating the planet we live on? The splendor of Nature or even our own bodies? In Job 38, God himself asked, "Brace yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer me. Where were you when I laid the earth's foundation? Tell me, if you understand. Who marked off its dimensions?"
Sarah was so taken aback in Genesis 18: 1-15 about her and Abraham having a child at their age, she even lied to Abraham about laughing over it. God’s ability to do anything surpasses even the very best of our abilities!
How much of the day do you spend worrying? The verse, “Do not be afraid” appears 365 times in the Bible!
Let’s see, all things are possible with God, God created us and the world we live in, and tells us 365 times in His word do not be afraid. I think He is trying to tell us something here, don’t you? We can have not only OUR desires (if that is His will) but have the desires He has for us that we haven’t even contemplated for ourselves. God knows us better than we know ourselves. He knew us before we were born!
Sounds like to me we have it made, right? Well, we do when we are living like we believe in Him. Oh, wait a minute, we all believe in God here at New Beginnings!
Please understand when we are not faithful to His word, when we force our own will over His, and we do not follow the guidelines that Moses and Jesus delivered to us from God, we are telling our Father we believe You but we believe in Satan and ourselves more than you!
I think we all know how it turns out when we attempt to know more than what our Father in heaven does. When we turn to the world (ourselves) for solutions for our problems and desires is when we are listening to the liar! We make Satan so very happy when we do that.
So for me, it is an easy choice. I want to please and listen to our Father, not the father of lies and death.
I understand it is not always easy to listen to God, but contemplate two things here: God does not make mistakes and where were you when he was creating Heaven and Earth?
Love and Blessings,
Lay Pastor Duke
